How do I mount my photographs into Epica albums? Inserting pictures into your new Epica album is fun and easy to do. Our albums are identical to old world style photo albums with thick blank acid free pages. There are several options available to you to suit your style. Epica.com offers the following three solutions for mounting:
Transparent or black photo mounting corners $8 / box of 250
Acid-free photo glue
$15 per tube
You may already be familiar with our old-fashion photo corners from seeing them in your parents or great grand parents photo albums. The photo corner is in essence a small triangle sleeve with adhesive on the back. Four corners mount one picture. Take one photo corner and slide it over the edge of each corner of your photograph and set it into your Epica album. You decide how to arrange each of your photographs They slide on the corner of each picture without harming your photograph and stick to your album. Your pictures still remain removable.
Our photo mounting glue is an incredible invention. To use, apply the glue directly to the phtograph on a few places and mount. What's amazing about this glue is that you can come back and PEEL your pictures right up again without damaging the page or picture while still having it adhere to the page again!
For the next solutions, you can go into any stationery store or even Staples to purchase the following:
Simply apply the tape, glue or dots to the back of your photograph and set it in the page where you'd like it to be mounted.
Every Epica photo album is interleaved with a sheet of rice paper vellum that protects all of your photographs. Your photos and memories will never turn rancid in our albums.

The same applies with our 30 SHEET albums. They are 60 pages front and back.
Pages are permanantly bound to your Epica cover.

What are the actual inside page dimensions of your photo albums? Excellent question. The exact actual measurements of each Epica photo album is always a little tricky as Italians measure in centimeters and as you should know by now, all Epica leather products come from Florence. This means that even on the final measurment you can give or take 1/8th of an inch. Below you will find the INSIDE dimensions of each size album which translates to the max workable area you have on each page. All measurments are in inches with the actual outer dimensions of the album size (the size shown everywhere else on Epica) shown first.
What is the exact weight versus the shipping weight of each album? The exact weight is first, followed by the billable shipping weight rounded up to the next pound.
Will my unique & unusual sizes photos fit in your album? Yes they always will. Read about the exact inside page dimensions of each album size by clicking here. As long as your pictures are slightly smaller, they will fit. Rememember not to cut it too close as you'll want at least a small border around each picture. Naturally, we always carry the World's Largest Handmade Italian Leather Photo album measuring 18x18 inches to accomodate the largest of photographs.

These albums look different than what I've seen. How do they work? All Epica photo ablums are very different than what most people have seen on the market today. When doing surveys we have found that most clients are tired of cheap albums that don't hold up, or really expensive wedding alubms that their photographer offers then that look fake and plastic like. As many of you know the albums that have been popular over recent years where you slide your picture behind some plastic, not only tends to have a very tackly look but, we have found those albums are usually full of acid and turn your pictures yellow within a couple of years. At Epica you will never find two things: Plastic and yellow photographs.
Sometimes the way things used to be done is a better way than we can ever do them today. We find that to be true wtih our photo albums, wedding albums and scrapbooks. Each page of an Epica album consists of two components:
A very thick blank cream or black page suitable for mounting photos and
a translucent rice paper separator to protect each picture and prevent photos mounted on opposite pages from touching.
Rather than forcing your pictures into a plastic sleeve or having them stick onto some nebulous gummy surface, this open format gives you more creative control over your memories.
You choose where the pictures get mounted in the album, how many pictures you'll put on each page, and should you wish, what you'll write next to each picture.

What color will my album be exactly? Most clients are thrilled to know that Epica books tend to come in a darker shade of brown than the how your monitor may display images. As you know by now, each and every piece is one of a kind and stained by hand. To get as close of an idea as you can to color, click a few of the smaller images below the product descriptions. When they are blown up, you'll have a much better idea of how the leather looks. For the most part, our albums are a bit lighter than that richest of the dark browns. In come cases the brown can be so dark it may seem black, but we assure you it is a rich brown.
