How do your guest books work? What is written inside? Almost of all of them have absolutely nothing written inside, and for good reason. Because of the vast amount of difference between what each person wants to have in their guest book from signatures only, to addresses and emails, to small comments, we have found that offering blank books is the way to go. This way you can leave a little card for your guests telling them EXACTLY what you'd like them to leave.

It is pure over the top beauty. Sometimes of course, too much is just enough. That’s why the more discriminating customer may choose to have any style of journal amply filled with handmade paper from the Amalfi Coast. It is our most premium paper available! It's texture thick with a very large tooth, and feels like fabric to the touch. Amalfi paper is made piece by piece by one of two paper mills left in the Amalfi Coast, Italy, near Naples. The sides of the pages have a torn look, and there every few pages you will find a watermark. We go further with hand stitched binding and fresh cream color pages. Amalfi paper makes every turn of the page something to be eagerly anticipated.

What is the difference between handmade Amalfi paper and hand-cut paper?
This is an excellent question. Our Amalfi paper is completely made by the hands Amalfi artisans. It started out as cotton fibers and tiny wood chips and has been soaked, then pressed into the rich thick fabric like stock with our signature torn edge look. Often the pages are watermarked. They are white in color and have a very strong tooth or roughness, making them perfect for drawing, sketching, writing, painting, or attaching your own beautiful paper to the pages.
Hand-cut paper is an Epica exclusive design of rich cream colored stock. It doesn't carry the lofty price of handmade Amalfi paper but still has that gorgeous uneven deckled edge that so many books used to have. Each page has been cut by hand to give it its unique look. The stock is thicker than most paper. It is almost like a very thin construction paper, but it's softer, smoother, creamier, and is our personal favorite to write on.
Finally, we carry classic journals. These are standard page blank journals that are white colored, unlined, and a bit thicker than normal paper stock.

What journals are suitable for what pen types? Will they bleed through? UNLINED AMALFI PAPER JOURNALS AND GUEST BOOKS:
You can use all types of pens and ink with these books with the exception of FOUNTAIN AND QUILL PENS. It's not so much that you can't use them as much as they tend to skip because the tooth of the Amalfi paper is so large.
HAND CUT PAPER JOURNALS & EXTRA THICK UNLINED PAPER JOURNALS:
Suitable for ALL INK TYPES
LINED AND UNLINED CLASSIC JOURNALS AND GUESTBOOKS:
Also suitable for all ink types but heavier inks will tend to show up on the other side of the page. This paper a very high quality thin paper and keeps the books dimensions thin and discreet.

Are your journals refillable? All Epica journals and guestbooks are permanantly hand bound to the leather front and back panels of the book using a special thick green paper stock called a fly-leaf. This, in addition to a book marker, are a couple of added features our Italian Artisans use to add value and aesthetic to each book.

I need a guest book with particular infomation inside. What do I do? With the broad spectrum of single elements that clients want in their guest books ranging from: name, signature, address, email, a small paragraph or any combination thereof, it becomes exceedingly difficult to find a solution.
But Epica has found a way around this: BLANK, UNLINED OR LINED GUEST BOOKS. There are two methods to get your friends and guests to leave the information you require:
ONE: Start the book yourself or have a friends start it with the information you are looking for. If you want more than signatures, then write a small paragraph to get people started. People respond in kind and WILL Follow suit.
Option two is to open a Microsoft Word document and simply pick and attractive size, font and color and type up a small note that you can fold in half and leave by your guest book saying:
"Please leave us your name, address and any comments." Or any combination thereof. It works wonders.
