It may be hard to imagine, but before the days of three ring binders, plastic pages, and disposable lifestyle products, leather photo albums used to be considered family heirloom pieces; objects that would last a lifetime and then be handed on to generations there after. Acid-free and archival materials were used and extra thick pages for photo mounting were standard. Delicate vellum rice paper separators were included between each album page to protect your photographs as well as adding a classy touch to each turn of the page. All of this was indispensable.
